SkillQnect – Payment, Cancellation, and Reschedule Policy

1. Purpose
This document outlines SkillQnect’s policies for payments, cancellations, refunds, and rescheduling of sessions between experts and learners. These policies apply to all users in Canada, USA, and India.
2. Booking and Payment
Learners must pay in full at the time of booking using a supported payment method. SkillQnect uses secure third-party processors (e.g., Stripe, Razorpay) and may retain encrypted tokens for convenience in future transactions. Session prices include applicable platform fees and taxes, which are visible before confirming the booking.
3. Cancellations by Experts
Experts may define their own cancellation policy. If no custom policy is set, the following defaults apply:
- Cancellation more than 24 hours before session: Full refund to learner
- Cancellation between 12–24 hours: Full refund to learner, reliability score may be affected
- Cancellation within 12 hours or no-show: Full refund to learner, expert payout is forfeited
SkillQnect may reduce visibility or suspend experts for repeated last-minute cancellations.
4. Cancellations by Learners
For standard bookings:
- Cancellation 24+ hours before the session: Full refund
- Cancellation between 12–24 hours: 50% refund (excluding platform fees)
- Cancellation within 12 hours or no-show: No refund
For same-day bookings (sessions scheduled within 12 hours):
- Cancellations within 1 hour of booking: Full refund, if the session has not started
- Cancellations after 1 hour of booking: No refund, unless agreed by the expert
5. Rescheduling
Learners may request to reschedule sessions subject to expert approval and availability.
- Standard sessions: Reschedule requests must be made at least 12 hours in advance
- Same-day bookings: Reschedule requests must be made at least 1 hour in advance
Each session may be rescheduled only once.
6. Refund Processing
Refunds are processed through the original payment method and may take 5–10 business days to reflect depending on the bank or provider. Platform fees are non-refundable unless the session is cancelled by the expert or due to platform error.
7. Platform Cancellations
SkillQnect reserves the right to cancel sessions and issue refunds if:
- Fraud or abuse is suspected
- Technical issues prevent session completion
- Policy violations are confirmed
8. Abuse of Policy
SkillQnect may deny refunds and suspend accounts that show a pattern of abusive behavior, including frequent last-minute cancellations, misuse of same-day bookings, or attempts to bypass the platform's payment system.
9. Support and Disputes
Disputes must be reported to hello@skillqnect.com within 48 hours of the session. Include relevant evidence such as chat logs or screenshots. Resolutions will typically be provided within 5–7 business days.
